The sympathy of the community is extended to the Boyle family on the passing of Kevin Boyle.

Also our sympathy is sent to the family of Bert Elliott who passed away on the weekend. Our thoughts and prayer are with you all.
 
Don and Marilyn Reid and Bob and June Gilchrist travelled to Bayfield on Saturday to visit with friends. On Sunday Don and Marilyn visited with Don and Betty Bushell.
 
Last Wednesday Betty MacLeod enjoyed the hospital retirees luncheon held at Oliver's on Queen.
 
Get well wishes are extended to Don Thompson who had the misfortune to break his hip last week. We also send get well wishes to all those who aren't well.
 
Fran Farrell spent a couple of days last week in Goderich with Derk and Lillian Logtenberg.
 
The annual meeting for Pine River Cheese was held on Friday. St Andrew's United Church held its annual meeting after church on Sunday.
 
Visiting Morley and Deanna Scott last week were Chris Moulton, Betty Eskrick and John Campbell.
 

Don't forget the Ripley Winter Carnival this weekend. And Happy Valentine's Day.

The Purple Grove Women's Institute met for its February meeting at the home of Maureen Collins in Lucknow. The roll call was answered with Valentine verses, jokes and reading. A discussion was held about the future of the Erland Lee homestead.

Convener Mary Anne Kukoly had Valentine readings and contests. Cheryl Bridge and Sandy Gander provided a bountiful lunch and then a social times was spent catching up on each member's news.

Anyone interested in joining this group is sincerely welcome to come out to a meeting. The W.I. motto is "For Home and Country" and the group has fun carrying this out.
