Township pays more than $100,000 in remuneration |

| Huron-Kinloss Township paid more than $100,000 in remuneration last year, with almost $99,000 going to members of council. In a statement presented at the council meeting Tuesday night (Feb. 16), treasurer Jodi MacArthur outlined the salary and per diems, and expenses for travel/parking and meals for the mayor, deputy mayor and each councillor, plus those for the livestock evaluator and members of the property standards committee. Mayor Mitch Twolan received a total of $21,505.67, including $19,393.30 in salary and per diems, $1,962.37 for travel/parking and $150 for meals. Deputy mayor Wilfred Gamble was paid a total of $14,119.55, including $12,754.32 in salary and per diems, and $1,365.23 in travel/parking. Councillor Lillian Abbott received $12,699.30, including $11,433 for salary and per diems, and $1,266.30 for travel/parking. Councillor Anne Eadie was paid $13,386.31, including $11,813.80 in salary and per diems, $1,332.51 for travel/parking, and $240 for meals. Councillor Jeff Elliott received $14,050.70, including $12,743.20 in salary and per diems, $1,157.50 for travel/parking, and $150 for meals. Councillor Jim Hanna was paid $10,558.44, including $9,860.76 in salary and per diems, and $697.68 for travel/parking. Councillor Don Murray received $12,585.29, including $11,695.04 in salary and per diems, $740.25 for travel/parking, and $150 for meals. Eadie received $2,815.69 for serving as a director on the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA), including $1,440 in salary and per diems, and $1,375.69 for travel/parking, which was paid by the SVCA. Gamble received $1,020 for serving as a director on the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA), which was all for salary and per diems, and paid by the MVCA. |
Paul Murray received $871.06 as livestock evaluator, including $675 in salary and per diems, and $196.06 for travel/parking. The following received salary and per diems, plus travel/parking for serving on the property standards committee:
