Kincardine’s newest millionaire, Brian Wall, 65, is crediting his $4-million Lotto 6/49 jackpot win on a pair of pork chops,
literally. “I wouldn’t have bought the ticket if it wasn’t for my grandson’s
dislike of pork chops," says Wall. "I went to watch him play hockey and he wanted to come
home with us for dinner. I had to go to the grocery store to buy chicken
because he doesn’t like pork chops. While I was waiting in line, I decided I
would buy a ticket and that was the winning ticket." Wall matched all six numbers on
his Lotto 6/49 ticket from the Saturday, Feb. 13 draw. He says he was
at a loss for words when he realized he had won the jackpot of $3,846,982. “I told my wife she could now
retire,” he said, “But I’m old-fashioned. I want to live the same life.” A retired CN Rail Traffic Controller, Wall has three children, 11 grandchildren
and one great-grandchild. He plans to use the winnings to help out his family and do some travelling. |
