Leah Tuck the winner Leah Tuck was pronounced the winner of the Olympic Torch essay contest held in Saugeen Shores leading up to the arrival of the Torch on December 28th. Students were asked to submit essays about what the Torch and/or Olympics meant to them, with five finalists being selected by a committeee. The announcement was made at the Olympic Torch ceremonies held at The Plex in Port Elgin after the arrival of the Torch. Tuck, a 13-year-old grade 8 student, will have her name engraved on an actual torch that will be displayed in the Town's offices. |
