Christmas is over for another year, but already, the Cham-bettes are looking ahead to next Christmas and their fourth annual Garage Sale in November.

The fundraising group, made up of professional women from Saugeen Shores, donates all proceeds raised to the community.    The group says that it's this time of year when everyone is packing up their decorations to remind everyone, who is either tired of their decorations or simply  ready for a change, to keep the Cham-bettes' sale in mind.

"This has become both a great fundraiser, and a community service event, "says Cham-bette Christine Champion. "We are the ultimate in reuse and recycle!   It is always a joy to see eveyone's delight in finding that special treasure."

Everything in the garage sale is donated and, therefore, the funds are also raised by donation.  Those who can afford to pay a little more for our fundraiser do, but it's also a chance for those who may not be able to afford to spend a lot of money, to obtain items at little cost.

Any items remaining are then donated to the Salvation Army, where they have another chance to be sold and the monies used for those in need.

"We actually see people buy items one year, perhaps use them for one or two seasons and then return the items, and re-purchase new treasures!" adds Champion.  According to Champion, the Cham-bettes raise more than $1,000 each year which is turned back into the community.

The Cham-bettes suggest that if anyone has decorations, to simply put them in a box, labelled 'Cham-bettes' and store in a handy place until November.  For those who may not be able to store items, the Cham-bettes have some limited storage space available. (phone 519-797-3578),
