From everyone at Purple Grove, we wish all our readers a very Merry
and Blessed Christmas and All the Best in 2010.
The Purple Grove Christmas Party was well attended and enjoyed by all.
Thanks to Jo Reid and Diane McCulloch for organizing the evening. The
potluck supper was delicious. Master of Ceremonies Diane introduced the
entertainment which was superb from violin solos to recitations and
songs. This was provided by the Alvie, Becker, Greenwood, MacDonald, and
Reid youngsters. They sang the usual Christmas songs, plus some about
hippos and flying cows. Of course, Santa made his appearance and checked
on the latest additions to our Purple Grove family. Santa has been
showing up for more than 70 years. What a great evening of fun and
fellowship!
Roger Smith had breakfast with Christina, Monty and Tyson VandeSype at
the Winnipeg airport on Friday morning. It's a small world indeed.
Derk Logtenberg was home in Goderich for the weekend from Parkwood
Hospital in London and is looking forward to coming home again for
Christmas. He certainly appreciates all your calls and visits while he
has been recuperating. Fran Farrell visited with Derk and Lillian on
Saturday .
Many folks enjoyed the Messiah Concert at Knox Presbyterian Church,
Kincardine, on Saturday evening with the Saugeen County Choir and the
Grey-Bruce Orchestra.
Christine Clifford is back in Japan after her time spent with her family
the first part of this month.
Mary Beth Kerr and Airk MacDonald are some of the folks celebrating
their birthday in December.
Oliver and Skylar of Brampton are visiting with their grandparents,
Janet and Wayne Rhody.
