The very remote problem

Every household we go to seems to have a remote problem. It seems that each TV/DVD combination has to have two remotes. A friend has 5 TVs and various DVDs and remotes. A few months ago due to a minor move the combination to them was lost because things were moved around. They still are not all up and running. Is the Internet going to help us? Yes, it could be, but not tomorrow. Everyone is fighting for content and where to place it. It appears that the big pictures are going to gravitate toward AVATAR like experiences with a big screens and 3D. This saves them from immediately dueling with the Internet, but hold on, here comes bigger TVs and your PC/Laptop/Note Book will direct entertainment content to any viewing device in the house. It could be that the remote problem will clear up then. This will be due to and decent user interface wherein you will be able to direct content to any viewing device you like. Right now it's far easier to run a DVD on your PC than it is to fumble with a couple of remotes in your living room. Yes, yes, they have 'universals', but they are clumsy too. Come on Internet, let's bring it on!
