The final tender of the contentious proposed north sewer expansion project in Saugeen Shores was received at the beginning of this week.

The tenders and recommendations by the Town's Engineering Department will be presented at the upcoming Council meeting on March 8.

The project, if approved by Council, will move forward immediately in order to meet the March 31st, 2011 deadline.

The project is part of the stimulus funding put forward by the Federal and Provincial levels of government, wherein they provide two thirds of the funding with remainder to be paid by the benefitting users.

Although some residents appear to be against the project, many others have also expressed their support for the sewer expansion.

The final decision will be announced March 8th.
