Breakers performs well

Fourteen members of the Breakers Swim Team headed down to Guelph for the 18th Annual BDO Challenge on February 13th and 14th. Along with 14 other swim teams the Breakers raced fast for personal bests(pb), provincial qualifiers, medals and high points award.

With six months into the 2009/2010 season the Breakers continually improve their times at each meet they attend. The Breakers certainly rocked the blocks at this meet!

The meet began each morning at 7:30am. Swimmers aged 13 years and older swam in the morning session with 11 of them being Breakers. The 12 and under swimmers began their warm up at 12 noon of which 3 swimmers represented the Breakers.

Evening finals for the 13 and over age group were held for those who qualified. Courtney Ashton swam pbs in her 200 Free, 200 Breast and 100 Free, she also swam the 200 IM, 100 Breast, and 50 Free. Madison Ashton swam pbs in her 200 Free, 50 Free, and 100 Breast, she also swam the 100 Back, 200 Back, and 100 Free. Pascal Baumann swam pbs in his 800 Free, 200 Free, 100 Free, 50 Free, and 400 IM, he also swam the 200 IM. Andrew Beaton Williamson swam pbs in his 200 Free, 100 Fly, and 200 Fly, he also swam the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 IM. Jensen Currie swam pbs in her 200 Free, 50 Free, 100 Back, and 100 Breast, she also swam the 100 Free and 200 Back. Mallory Earnshaw swam pbs in her 200 Free and 100 Breast, she also swam the 200 Breast, 200 IM, 50 Free, and 100 Free. Alanna Kozak swam pbs in her 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free, she also swam the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, and 200 IM. Jess Larsen swam pbs in her 200 Back and 200 Fly, she also swam the 100 Fly, 400 IM, 100 Back, and 800 Free. Andrew Lofts swam pbs in his 200 Free, 200 Breast, 400 IM, 100 Breast, and 800 Free, he also swam the 200 IM. Ethan Lofts swam a pb in his 100 Breast, he also swam the 200 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Back, 100 Free, and 800 Free. Kelsey Simpson had a pb in her 200 IM, she also swam the 200 Free, 200 Back, 50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 Back. Danielle Sullivan swam a pb in her 200 Free, she also swam the 200 Breast, 100 Breast, 400 IM, 200 IM, and 800 Free. Dan Wilsdon swam pbs in his 200 Free, 200 Breast, 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Breast, and 200 IM. Elizabeth Wilsdon swam pbs in her 200 Free, 200 Back, 400 IM, 100 Free, 200 IM, she also swam the 100 Back. With all swimmers coming home with best times, some of them came home with awards as well. Andrew Beaton-Williamson won the age 13-14 Boys High Points Award. The boys age 13-14 relay team won Gold in the 200 Freestyle and 200 Medley relays! And with an amazing 100 Breast swim, Mallory Earnshaw qualified for Provincials! Andrew Beaton Williamson and Mallory Earnshaw will compete in Provincials this coming weekend. Good luck swimmers!
