council has approved the following public works tenders, as presented
by public works manager Jim O'Rourke at the meeting Wednesday night
(March 17): *Supply and apply calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride equivalent: Cliff Holland Trucking of Goderich, at a price of $62,140. This was the lowest of three bids, which included Pollard Highway Products Ltd. at $73,060; and Da-Lee Dust Control at $76,546.60. *Supply, load, haul and place Granular "A" maintenance gravel: Joe Kerr Limited of Wingham, at a total price of $150,232.32. This was also the lowest of three bids, the others being Norman Campbell Construction at $158,023.80; and Donegan's Hauling Limited at $154,836. *Supply winter sand: Bannerman Contracting Ltd. of Kincardine, at a price of $40,500. This was the lowest of two bids, the other being Harold Sutherland Construction Ltd. at $52,300. *Remove, supply and install three cable guide rails: Elliott Fence Inc. of Goderich, at a price of $22,277.50. This was the lowest of two bids, the other being B&L Farm Services Ltd. at $26,332.80.

Harold Sutherland Construction Ltd. of Owen Sound, at a price of
$28,125. This was the lowest of two bids, the other being Multiple
Enterprises Inc. at $30,150. *Remove and replace sidewalks: C&M Construction Kincardine Ltd. of Kincardine, at a price of $35,000. This was the lowest of two bids, the other being John C. Sweeney Concrete Finishing Ltd. at $36,978. *There were no tenders received for routing and sealing cracks in hot mix asphalt pavement. |
