March 12, 2010 – SBGHC has recently upgraded several pieces of equipment across its four sites, including new x-ray machines at the Chesley and Durham sites.

The x-ray machines were in need of replacement; both pieces of equipment were approaching 20 years of age and replacement parts had become obsolete.  The new units were installed in Durham in January and Chesley at the beginning of March.

So far patients and staff are very pleased with the upgrade. “The space is significantly more functional, and much more accessible and comfortable for patients,” explains Janet Hatten, Senior Diagnostic Imaging Technologist at SBGHC’s Chesley site.

The new units and renovations to the x-ray areas were fully funded by the Chesley & District Health Services Foundation for the Chesley site and partially funded by the Durham and Community Health Care Foundation for the Durham site.
