After Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code many people for the first time began to really understand the connection between symbolism, nature and mathematics. One of the 'neat' and well known concepts that came out well in the book and movie was the Fibonnacci Sequence which is 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55 etc. The numbers of this sequence converge to the Golden Ratio 1.618.... when you take (n+1)/n for ever larger n.
