The sod has officially been turned for the new Rotary Park Integrated Accessibility Playground to be built in Southampton at Jubilee Park on Victoria Street.

Mini Jacques, Chair of the Accessibility Committee, emceed the sod-turning explaining that the new playground will be both a community and regional park for people of all ages and abilities.

"The original fundraising goal was $250,000," said Jacques, "but to date $320,000 has been raised thanks to the generosity of the community, service clubs and individuals.  With the total cost coming in at $350,000, we are still actively fundraising."
