Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerberg said "Sorry" in full page newspaper ads last week It's Ironic that he chose that vehicle, i.e. Newspapers.
What is this 'sorry' all about? Facebook has a business plan. The plan in its simplest form proposes that they take your profile, combine it with others and sell ads that pinpoint who you are as a consumer. They sell this service to companies who then pinpoint advertising to you.
The basic idea is simple. If an organization can control the information aura around you, then they can direct you to do, buy, say and believe what they want.
That this is a combustible combination has been known for a long time. It is also at the core of Google and their success.
Who is kidding who?
Is there a way out of this dilemma? I don't think there is. The cat is out of the bag. I believe we have passed the tipping point.
Why hasn't the consumer and the government been up in arms? The reason is simple. They don't understand what's going on at all. It's almost laughable. THEY and US have been captured in the Information Aura.
The reason for Zuckerberg's apology was in my opinion heartfelt, but mystifying. I'm sure he saw the future and the use and misuse of the data that Facebook acquires from all of us. He has known this for a long time.
What precipitated the apology?
It seems that a Cambridge Professor compiled the results of a 100 question survey. Along the way, he was able to find out who took the survey and they combined that with all the data contained in Facebook pages about people, their friends and business associates. Nothing illegal about all this?. That's for legal minds, if they can understand it. It got tangled up in the election in the United States in 2016. The data aura was extended to more than 50,000,000 people.
Going along with this is all sorts of Dark Money and strange characters.
The truth of what he said seems to have overcome how he looks. He's a young Nerd, after all. He's a young, gay Canadian, who is concerned and rightly so.
You will know what he looks like from the Video below. What Mercer looks like, do you know? He was voted as one of the 10th most influential people in the world.
Please view the above video. It explains much about the strange events.
More to come about how all this directly influences us and what we can do about it as a start, which can help, but not cure.
Facebook's Founder Mark Zukerberg
Facebook on Sunday took out full-page ads in seven British newspapers and three American ones to apologize for the ongoing Cambridge Analytica data privacy scandal engulfing the social network in a legal and regulatory nightmare.
