Well, itís been a while since you heard from me but itís been a very busy holiday season and things are finally winding down. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. There was a nasty fire in Inverhuron in December where a home was destroyed but thankfully no one was hurt. I hope this year brings them better times.

Well it looks like Bruce County is finally experiencing winter with a bang. Iíve never seen this much snow in December for a very long time and weíre just starting the new year! Buckle up everyone and stay safe. If anyone hasnít heard, there is a new childrenís book titled ďHay DayĒ written by a local Hutton man about a tractor which features the Hutton family farm. Patti Hutton brought some over for the residents to give as Christmas presents and they were well received. If anyone is looking for a copy, they are available at Finchers in Kincardine.

Manor Musings

It was a very busy holiday season for the residents of the Manor.

In December, they were treated to a Cookie Walk hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary. This event is always an event they looked forward to. Huron Heights School Band came in for their seasonal entertainment. These kids are really talented. Other entertainment for December were Tom Lambert & friends, Craig and Convay Families caroling, Chalmers Country Gospel Band, Ray Richards, Line Dancers and even with the nasty weather we had two days of Christmas Caroling by the Amish.

They also finally made it to the Owen Sound Festival of Lights since they missed last year three times due to the weather.

Finally, we ended the year with a visit from Santa Claus. Every year there is a Santa party where he comes to visit the residents. Residents and their families are treated to Santa giving a gift to each and every resident followed by refreshments. At this time Tiverton Park Manor would like to thank all the volunteers including the Ladies Auxiliary, for the enjoyment you bring to the residents daily lives.

Belated December birthday wishes to Roberta Trelford, Gord Lamon, Gail McPherson, Amanda McQuillian, Cheryl Cottrill and Sharon Lytle. Birthday wishes so far this month to Rachel Page, Kim Catto , Laurent Lucier, Gerry Beadle and Linda Peebles.
