 Coral Maxine Mercer (nee Scott) passed away peacefully at the Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound, with her family by her side on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the age of 86.

Beloved wife of the late Wilfred James “Red” Mercer. Loving mother of Marilyn and her husband Tom Brown of Hamilton, Gwen and her husband Martin Manley of Owen Sound, Don and his wife Kate of Southampton, Sheree and her husband Pat Lacasse of Southampton, Patti and her husband Terry Biener of Baltimore, and Kathy and her husband Blaine McKenzie of Southampton.

Proud grandmother of Tammy (Scott), Don, Steve, Melissa, Ryan, Angie (Richard), Meaghan (Al), Erin (Mike), Scott, Mike (Kayla), Kyle (Melissa), Krysta (Blace), Kaylah (Joel), Rhonda (Beau), Adam, Luke (Jess), Amy, Kierstyn (Shaun), Reid (Sara), and Liam. Lovingly remembered by 36 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Survived by her brothers Fred Scott (Marina) and Bill Scott, by her sister Donna Goodfellow (Merv), by her nieces & nephews, and by Irene Howe (Murray), Janice Storms, and Ann Brannick.

 

Visitation at the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and  7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Coral Mercer will be at the Southampton United Church on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Southampton Cemetery.

A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. If desired, memorial donations may be to the Chapman House Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, to the Sick Kids Hospital, Taylor Laboratory for Brain Tumor Research Centre, to the Southampton United Church, or to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The stars lost some of their glitter when Coral passed, but the heavens will shine brighter for ever, we will miss the twinkle in her eyes and the warmth in her heart always.
