Reindeer Romp Committee is ready for the Olympic Torch

The Reindeer Romp Committee dawned their running attire to launch the upcoming walking/jogging event. In coordination with arrival of the Olympic Torch Relay, the Reindeer Romp will be on Sunday, December 20 at 9:00 starting from the Plex. A leisurely 2km walk or a fun 5km run is part of the line up.

Little ones are encouraged to participate in the
 800m Jingle Jaunt. Interested participants can pick up registration forms at Bruce County Museum, Scoreboard Sports and Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Offices.  Sign up today to ensure you have your shirt in time for the big day.
 
The Torch will be arriving in Saugeen Shores on December 28. Although details are still very secretive from VANOC, we can tell you that there will be a Saugeen Shores Olympic Celebration after the torch leaves Southampton. Plan to bring your family out to the Plex for huge show, and bring your skates as the ice will be opened up after the show for all to enjoy or watch the video show.
 
Don't forget....line the streets on Monday, December 28th....to support the torch coming into Port Elgin and Southampton.
