THEFT FROM UNLOCKED VEHICLE
(WIARTON, ON.) –
“Lock your vehicles” is the message Bruce Peninsula OPP would like to get out to residents of the Bruce Peninsula. Officers receive reports regularly from people who have items taken from their vehicles while they are parked in driveways or on the street, overnight unlocked. The most recent was a Scott Street resident of Wiarton who reports loosing his GPS and a Tim Hortons Cash Card overnight from his unlocked vehicle.

Thieves are looking for easy targets and an unlocked vehicle “fits the bill.” If everyone does their part to prevent crime, many thefts of this kind could be eliminated.

Remember:

Remove all valuables from your automobile.
Keep your doors locked when your vehicle is unattended.
Do not leave your vehicle keys with your car.
and under no circumstances leave your vehicle running when no one is in it.

These simple choices could prevent you from being a “victim of crime.”
