DRINKING AND DRIVING
(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – A Tobermory
resident will appear in Owen Sound Court March 25th
to face a drinking and driving charge. At 2:44 am, February 25th
a Bruce Peninsula OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Dunk’s Bay
Road for a traffic infraction and found the driver had been
drinking. The man was arrested and provided breath samples over
the legal limit. Charged is Richard Peacock, age 35, of The
Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION (SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA) - Shortly before 3:00 pm police were notified of a collision north of Mar on Highway 6. A nearby resident reported that a car had just been involved in a rollover in front of her home and that the occupants were not getting out of the overturned vehicle. A Waterloo couple waited patiently for help to get out of their car as emergency personnel from Wiarton arrived on scene. Ambulance, police and fire all assisted at the scene and the couple was extricated, then taken to the Wiarton hospital where they were treated and released. The vehicle passengers report that the vehicle got into some heavy snow along the roadside causing the rollover.
