Another Impaired Driving Court Date

 ANOTHER IMPAIRED COURT DATE
(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On March 30, 2010 at 9:08 pm, a South Bruce OPP member stopped to check a vehicle at the main beach area in Kincardine. The officer spoke with the female in the driver’s seat and determined that she had been consuming alcohol. 34 year old Amy Shaidle of Walkerton is charged with Impaired Care and Control; Care and Control with Over 80 Milligrams. She is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on May 31, 2010 to answer to the charges.

DIESEL FUEL THEFT
(KINCARDINE, ON.) – The South Bruce OPP are investigating the theft of a large amount of colored diesel fuel from a work site along Sideroad J1, Bruce Township. Sometime between Thursday March 25, 2010 at 5:30 pm and Monday March 29, 2010 at 7:00 am, the fuel was taken. The quantity of fuel taken could only be transported by a large truck. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY
(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On March 29, 2010 at 12:27 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a report of counterfeit money received by stores in Kincardine. The South Bruce OPP are offering merchants the following tips to help spot counterfeit money:

Inspect raised lettering in Bank of Canada – Banque Du Canada along the left side of the bill and in the Coat of Arms at the bottom left of the bill
Look for the amount of the bill in the dark band above the Coat of Arms

On the $5 bill, check for concentric circles around Sir Wilfred Laurier’s eyes
Watch for the maple leafs to change color as you tilt the bill

WALKERTON FILL A CRUISER SUCCESSFUL
(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On March 20, 2010 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, the South Bruce OPP Auxiliary unit worked at the Walkerton grocery stores to fill a cruiser for the food bank. The campaign was a success thanks to the generosity of the community. The members at the Foodland filled a cruiser with food and collected donations of $239.11 in cash and a $20 gift card. The members at the Valumart filled a cruiser with food and collected donations of $159.81 and a $275 gift card. Thank you for your generous support of this very worthwhile event.
