It's still January, but Golf is just around the corner and seniors need to start doing some serious stretching exercises.

Taking some light weights (even soup cans) and doing a turn like the golf swing helps a lot.  Don't forget to use both sides of your body  -- swing right and left handed and allow your body to stretch into top form when the snow is gone.  Don't overdo one side, because that's not good for senior backs.

Much has been made of the distance the pros hit the ball.  We'd all like to do that.  Full turns are one of their secrets. ... but what about equipment?

Over the past 15 years the head of the driver has gotten larger and larger until it finally reached the point where restrictions were place upon increasing it any more.  Some are now 460 cc.

The reason for the big head was not for distance, but to give a more forgiving 'sweet spot'.  It's like modern tennis rackets in that way.

A smaller golf manufacturer in Plano Texas, Adams golf has been coming on strong over the past decade.  Originally they made utility or trouble clubs that allowed the average player to get out of the rough with a long shot.  Over time this type of club migrated first onto the Women's Tour and then to the PGA Tour, where now even longer hitters use it.  They are used for a variety of shots.

Adams finally began making standard drivers and they are now challenging the big guys with technology.

The whole idea stemmed from noticing that even the pros were losing distance year over year on average due to the larger, more accurate head technology.  Bigger head, slower swing means less distance.  Smaller head means less accurate.

In conjunction with Siemens they decided to study the air flow over the club surface to make it both more efficient and accurate and give increased distance.

The key is to make the design and manufacturing  process faster and more efficient and improve the technology.

All you golfers who are interested in club technology and many are, please take the time to view the video below.  It's very well done and shows some secrets.
