The Tiverton and District Lions Club held its 34th annual Christmas dinner for local seniors Friday evening at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, Tiverton.

The hall was packed, with seating for about 200 people, including 175 seniors, several Lions Club members and volunteers, and Gary Marchand of Kincardine and his pick-up band which provided the entertainment later.

The turkey dinner, complete with all the trimmings, is provided free of charge to senior citizens in the Tiverton area, said Rosemary Grover of the Lions Club. While they enjoy putting on the meal, the club is looking for more volunteers to assist with the work, she added.

Joining Marchand in the band were Bill Hayes of Kinloss, Ron and Vickie Apps of Paisley, George and Louise Gowanlock of Paisley, Marion Emmerton of Kincardine, and Fraser Lamont of Kincardine.
