Nine cars ended up in the ditch along Bruce County Road 15, between Tiverton and the corner of Bruce County Road 23 (B-line), Friday morning (Dec. 11), as the vicious winter storm, that arrived late Wednesday night, continued to blow.

Highway 21 and Highway 86 were again closed Friday, and buses and events were cancelled. Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School and its technical studies centre were closed. Ripley-Huron Community School and Lucknow Central Public School were both closed. Huron Heights, Elgin Market and St. Anthony's schools were open with only in-town buses. Kincardine District Secondary School was open with no country buses, and the Bervie Campus was closed.

By mid-morning, all roads were open but snow packed and slippery. But by the afternoon, Highway 9 was closed due to poor to zero visibility because of the blowing and drifting snow.
